For optimal functioning, the electrodes of the patch need to maintain direct contact with your skin, capturing the heart’s electrical activity accurately. If you have hair on your chest, it can interfere with this conduction, potentially impairing the accuracy of the readings. Additionally, removal of the patch could become painful due to hair being pulled out along with the adhesive.

The length of time you’ll need to wear your patch is primarily determined by the prescribed monitoring duration. The adhesive used to secure the ECG patch to your skin typically retains its stickiness for about 3 days. However, its effectiveness can vary based on certain external conditions, such as sweat or high temperatures. If the adhesive begins to loosen before the end of your monitoring period, please contact our support team. Vigo Buddy is always available to guide you through this process.

While the ECG patch is water-resistant, enabling you to shower during the monitoring period, certain precautions are advised. Please refrain from using hot water or applying detergents directly to the patch to prevent deteriorating its adhesiveness. After your shower, it’s recommended to gently pat dry the area around the adhesive with a towel. Keep in mind that while the patch can resist water, it is not fully waterproof. Therefore, swimming is not advised while you are wearing the patch.

When it’s time to remove the ECG patch, begin by gently peeling it from your skin, starting at one edge and slowly progressing to minimize any discomfort. If the patch is adhered quite firmly, a small amount of warm water can assist in its removal. After detaching the patch from your skin, carefully peel off the adhesive layer. To store the patch, place it back in its case, and dispose of the used adhesive in a waste bin.

Indeed, the ECGz patch is designed for reuse. Once your monitoring period concludes and you have carefully removed the patch, please store it safely in its case and return it to the Vigo Service Provider. The ECG patch will then undergo a thorough cleaning process following the manufacturer’s recommended protocol, preparing it for use by the next patient. Please be aware that any loss or damage to the device could result in the patient being charge for its replacement.

Experiencing a slight itch after applying the adhesive is completely normal and typically subsides within an hour or so. However, if you notice escalating redness around the adhesive or severe itching, we advise you to carefully remove the adhesive or reach out to Vigo Buddy for additional assistance. Importantly, please avoid applying the patch to injured or damaged skin.
